  • The Garden Grows!

I love english paper piecing, especially in the quiet of the morning! My Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt is really growing!! July will be two years I have been working on this one. How time flies!

  • Finished! Curved Log Cabin Quilt!

I made this quilt as a surprise birthday present for my daughter. It is queen size and I utilized a tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Co. Quilt fabric is Sue Daly’s French Courtyard by Riley Blake. She was ecstatic!

  • Early Morning EPP Planning

Is there any better way to start the day?

  • The Boat House is Quilted!

I finished quilting my grandson’s Wiggling Quilt (Natalia Bonner pattern). I love The Boat House fabric and he is going to love this quilt. I will post another picture when I finish the binding.

  • Back to EPP!

Finally pulled out my EPP project that I started two years ago and stitched a little this morning! I really want to work toward finishing it this year. July will actually make two years so I know I won’t be done by July, but maybe December!

  • Quilting the Boathouse Quilt

Finally squeezing in a little quilting time. I am using a pantograph by Patricia Ritter called Constellation. The quilt pattern is Wiggling Quilt from Natalia Bonner’s One Block Modern Quilts book.

  • My First Pantograph

I decided today was as good a day as any to try a pantograph. I was wobbly at first, but tried to concentrate on moving faster and not necessarily being precise. That really helped. This was fun and I will definitely do another so can continue to practice.

The pattern I used is called Ocean Breeze by Lorien Quilting. I purchased it from Urban Elementz. The quilt was stitched on my HandiQuilter Avante.

  • Is it Summer yet?

I found these wonderful embroidered blocks at MQX East. They are available from Kings Treasures and I am so looking forward to summer. I know that I have to wait for Spring, but doesn’t summer sound wonderful?

  • Practice Squares from Leah's MXQ East Class

Here are my samples that I stitched in the class today. I felt more comfortable than I have in the past. Definitely not perfect, but certainly getting better every time!!

  • MQX East – With Leah Day

I feel very fortunate that I was able to take a class with Leah Day today at MQX East in Manchester, NH. She is simply awesome- fun and inspirational! I was amazed by the beauty of her quilts. they were so impressive in person. I have included a few pictures of some of her work she shared with us.

If you ever get a chance to take a class with Leah, do it!
